LAS VEGAS, NEVADA
Las Vegas is the poker capital of the world. Ranked poker room guide covering cash games, daily tournaments, major series, stakes by room, and what to expect at every table.
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) — the most prestigious poker tournament series in the world — is held annually in Las Vegas. Since 2022, the WSOP's primary venue has been Horseshoe Las Vegas (formerly Bally's Las Vegas), with overflow events at the adjacent Paris Las Vegas. The series runs from late May through mid-July each year and draws thousands of players from around the world.
POKER ROOMS RANKED
Las Vegas hosts more world-class poker rooms than any city on earth. These are the most consistently recommended rooms for cash games, tournaments, and atmosphere.
MGM Resorts International
Aria is widely considered the #1 poker room in Las Vegas by serious players. The room runs deep-stacked cash games around the clock, including $5/$10, $10/$20, and higher games that are notoriously difficult to find elsewhere. The adjacent PokerGO Studio hosts marquee televised events. Aria poker attracts world-class professionals and serious amateurs year-round.
Wynn Resorts
Wynn's poker room is consistently rated among the top two in Las Vegas. The room features comfortable high-back chairs, excellent service, and an active list of games ranging from $1/$3 NLHE to serious high-stakes action. Professional and semi-professional players frequent Wynn regularly, creating a challenging but rewarding table environment.
MGM Resorts International
Bellagio's poker room was for many years the undisputed #1 in the world. The room still draws a premium crowd and spreads a wide range of games from $2/$5 NLHE through the legendary Bobby's Room — a glass-enclosed section where the world's biggest live cash games are played. No poker trip to Las Vegas is complete without at least walking past Bobby's Room.
VICI Properties / Apollo Global
The Venetian operates one of the largest poker rooms on the Las Vegas Strip with consistently active tables across all limits. The room runs an extensive daily tournament schedule that rivals any casino in Las Vegas and hosts the Venetian Poker Series (DeepStack Extravaganza) each year — one of the largest recurring tournament series outside of the WSOP.
Caesars Entertainment
Horseshoe Las Vegas (formerly Bally's Las Vegas, rebranded 2022) is the home of the World Series of Poker. During the WSOP season, the combined Horseshoe/Paris complex becomes the largest poker tournament venue on earth. The year-round cash game room runs solid action, and the proximity to Paris Las Vegas adds additional tournament overflow capacity during the Series.
MGM Resorts International
MGM Grand runs a solid mid-level poker room that attracts a good mix of tourists and regular players. The room is less intimidating than Aria or Bellagio for recreational players while still offering active tables at $1/$2, $1/$3, and $2/$5 NLHE. Table service and room service to poker players is available.
Landry's / Tilman Fertitta
Golden Nugget is the clear choice for downtown Las Vegas poker. The room spreads cash games and a slate of daily tournaments that offer lower buy-ins than most Strip rooms — making it ideal for recreational players or those who prefer a downtown atmosphere. Strong poker promotions and a comfortable room environment make this a go-to for locals and visitors alike.
South Point Gaming
South Point is arguably the best locals poker room in Las Vegas. The room runs around the clock with a consistent local player base, competitive promotions, high-hand jackpots, and bad beat jackpots that regularly climb into significant dollar amounts. Lower buy-ins, less tourist traffic, and a grounded poker culture make South Point a favorite for Las Vegas residents.

CASH GAME GUIDE
Las Vegas cash games run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Here's what to expect at each stake level.
Recreational Level
The $1/$2 and $1/$3 tables are the entry point to Las Vegas cash game poker. These games run 24/7 at virtually every poker room in the city. Field quality varies widely — from complete beginners to grinder regulars. For recreational players, these stakes offer an authentic Las Vegas poker experience at a manageable cost. Expect to see big hands played too fast and strong hands underbet.
Intermediate Level
$2/$5 NLHE is where Las Vegas poker gets serious. The player pool at this level includes a mix of recreational players and regulars who are difficult to exploit without a working strategy. Bellagio, Aria, and Wynn run the most active $2/$5 games consistently. Sessions of 400–500 big blinds deep are common, requiring a stronger understanding of stack-to-pot ratio and positional play.
Advanced / Semi-Professional Level
$5/$10 and $10/$20 games are among the most consistently spread high-stakes cash games in Las Vegas outside of private games. Aria and Wynn are the preferred venues. Game quality at these stakes is high — expect GTO-aware players, frequent 3-betting, and disciplined post-flop play. Recreational players occasionally sit, creating profitable spots for skilled regulars.
Professional / Bobby's Room Level
Las Vegas hosts more high-stakes live poker than anywhere else on earth. Bellagio's Bobby's Room is the most famous venue for ongoing nosebleed games. Games at $25/$50 and above are often private or arranged through connections — they do not appear on a public board wait list. Several online-to-live professionals maintain Las Vegas residency specifically to access these games year-round.
TOURNAMENT CALENDAR
Beyond the WSOP, Las Vegas hosts a year-round calendar of tournament poker across multiple series and venues.
Horseshoe Las Vegas + Paris Las Vegas
90+ events | Main Event: $10,000 | Smallest events: ~$400
The WSOP is the largest and most prestigious poker tournament series in the world. First held in 1970 at Binion's Horseshoe downtown, the WSOP moved to the Rio All-Suite in 2005 and to Horseshoe Las Vegas in 2022. Events span all formats — NLHE, PLO, Mixed Games, H.O.R.S.E., Short Deck, and more. The $10,000 Main Event, held in early July, determines the World Champion of Poker.
The Venetian Resort Las Vegas
Multiple annual series | Buy-ins: $150–$5,000
The Venetian Poker Series (DeepStack Extravaganza) runs multiple events throughout the year, often filling in the calendar around WSOP. Buy-ins start at $150, making the series accessible to recreational players. Events regularly draw 300–1,000+ entries. The Venetian's poker room infrastructure supports large field tournaments efficiently.
Various Strip properties
Main Event typically $3,500–$5,000 | WPT title on the line
The World Poker Tour (WPT) holds one or more events in Las Vegas annually, typically at major Strip properties. WPT events offer guaranteed prize pools, professional production, and broadcast coverage. These are premium events for serious tournament players seeking a prestige title below the WSOP level.
Aria Resort & Casino / PokerGO Studio
High rollers: $25,000–$250,000 buy-ins | PokerGO broadcast
Aria hosts a variety of premium poker events throughout the year through its PokerGO partnership. High-roller tournaments with buy-ins of $25,000, $50,000, and higher are held regularly at the PokerGO Studio. Super High Roller Bowl events and PokerGO-exclusive tournaments draw the world's best players and are streamed live via the PokerGO subscription platform.
All major Las Vegas poker rooms
Buy-ins: $65–$250 typically | Multiple start times daily
Every major Las Vegas poker room runs a daily tournament schedule with multiple start times — typically morning, afternoon, and evening events. Buy-ins at most rooms range from $65 to $250, with occasional larger events on weekends. The Venetian, Horseshoe, Golden Nugget, and South Point run the most consistent and well-attended daily tournament programs.
